Hosta Mixture – 3 pk

$17.99

Looking for a shade-loving plant to brighten a shady area in the garden? Hostas fits the bill perfectly. This Hosta assortment of popular varieties provides plenty of texture and color, yet needs little care. Mildly fragrant purple or white trumpet-shaped flowers are carried on graceful panicles that rise above the attractive foliage. In mid-summer tall spikes bearing fragrant bell-shaped lavender flowers appear amid the mounds of foliage. Easy to care for and grow, they rarely need dividing. Try them as the center plant for a distinctive touch in a container on a shaded or north-facing patio or deck. No matter where they’re planted, Hostas will be pleasing to the eye.

Planting/Growing Information

Growing Instructions:

  • Select a location in the garden that receives dappled to full shade and where the soil is slightly acidic and drains well.
  • Loosen the soil and place the roots into the soil 18-36″ apart. The roots should face down and the “eyes” or growing points facing upward just slightly below the soil level.
  • Tamp the soil down and water thoroughly.
  • After the flowers bloom, leave the foliage in place until it turns yellow and dies off. Hostas rarely need dividing and are very long-lived perennials.

Among the easiest to grow and the earliest to bloom, the Bloomsz Asiatic Lily Bulb Mixture will bring you the flawless beauty and brilliant colors of yellow, orange, pink, red, and white lilies. Numerous flowers grow on each tall, erect stem. These showy beauties are perfect when planted in clusters in borders and beds, and can last up to two weeks as cut flowers.

    • Plant in round or oval-shapes in beds and borders
    • Cut only 1/3 of the stem along with the flower, leaving the majority of the stem in place to provide the nutrients the bulb needs to bloom the next year
    • For cut-flower arrangements, cut when buds are just about to open and have some color at the tips
    • Before placing in vases, remove leaves from below the water line
    • To prevent possible staining from pollen, clip stamens before placing flowers in vases
