Blueberry bushes make perfect patio plants. Truly low maintenance, they can be grown anywhere outdoors: on a deck, a balcony, or a patio. The dark glossy green leaves turn to a brilliant red, orange, yellow, and/or purple in autumn. The white to very light pink flowers are long bell or urn-shaped. Deep blue berries can be eaten straight from the plant, served with whipped cream or ice cream, or baked in pies or muffins. The included, color-coordinated metal pot with handles makes it easy to move your blueberry bush from one location to another.

For best results, move the potted plant indoors before the first signs of frost and back outdoors in spring. The variety that has been selected based upon your region will adapt well to the growing container in which it comes. Use a good general acidic fertilizer recommended for blueberries, azaleas, and rhododendrons per label instructions.
Water thoroughly regularly while letting the surface soil dry between watering. Do not over water but realize that potted plants need to be watered more often than plants that are in the ground. Make sure the pot drains after watering.
Prune by pinching back the tips of new growth toward the interior branches. Remove any new growth or stems near the soil level. As the bush grows over the years, transplant it to a larger, self-draining container as needed. Blueberries will pollinate themselves outdoors and indoors.
